Kolva Club vs Coacha

Looking for a Coacha alternative?

Coacha is a well-established UK club platform, and plenty of clubs are happy on it. This page is for the ones who aren't — usually because of the monthly subscription, the admin still left to do by hand, or wanting to keep Direct Debit without starting from scratch.

Coacha is used by a wide range of UK sports clubs, from martial arts to swimming. Kolva is built specifically around how cheerleading, gymnastics and dance clubs run: squads, competitions, kit, and families with more than one athlete.

Why clubs move

What Kolva does differently — not a list of what Coacha doesn't.

1

No subscription

Kolva has no monthly fee. You pay 0.75% on money you actually collect, on top of the normal Stripe or GoCardless processing fee. A club collecting nothing pays nothing.

2

We do the move for you

We import your athletes, parents and teams, so parents don't re-enter their details. Each parent then sets up a new Direct Debit from an email link, and you keep collecting on Coacha until theirs is live.

3

Ask, don't click

"Who hasn't paid this month?", "Create a taster for Saturday 10am", "Message the Seniors about Sunday" — the AI assistant does the admin, with a confirmation step before anything goes out.

4

One Direct Debit per family

Monthly fees, kit and competition fees all collect on the same mandate. Sibling discounts and crossover athletes are handled in the fee schedule, not a spreadsheet.

Moving off Coacha, for free

Done with you on a call. Here is exactly what happens and what comes across.

  1. 1

Export members, parents and teams from your Coacha admin as CSV (about 30 minutes).

  2. 2

Send us the files. We run the import with you on a call, or do it for you — AI maps the Coacha columns, you review the summary before anything goes live. Importing never emails parents; you choose when they are invited.

  3. 3

When you are ready, each parent gets an email invite to set a password and set up a new Direct Debit with GoCardless. Bacs takes around three working days to activate it; keep collecting on Coacha until then.

Comes across

  • Athletes, parents and emergency contacts
  • Teams and squads
  • Coaches and admins, with the right role
  • Sessions with day-of-week and timing where Coacha provides it

Stays in your archive

  • Past attendance — stays in your Coacha archive
  • Past invoices and receipts — Kolva starts a clean ledger from cutover day
  • Direct Debit mandates — each parent sets up a new one from an email link; keep collecting on Coacha until theirs is live
  • Internal notes — copy across any you want to keep

Questions clubs ask about leaving Coacha

They don't re-register: we import their details and their children's for you. They do set a password and a new Direct Debit, which takes a couple of minutes from an email link. Keep collecting on your old platform until each parent's new one is live. If you already collect through GoCardless, ask us about keeping your existing mandates instead.
